New to this?

These are the traditional wedding protocols and etiquette. Depending on your tastes they may be followed in the traditional manner or they can be used as guidelines. We also give you some pointers to where we can help out. Scroll down for more..

The Receiving Line
The receiving line is an excellent way to ensure you meet and greet everyone. Time should be allowed for this between the service and the wedding reception. Usually when the bride’s parents have sent out the invitations they are then regarded as the host and hostess and should be first in line to receive the guests. Next in line can be the groom’s parents, then the groom, bride, chief bridesmaid and best man. This can be changed to suit the bridal party as required. We can organise and provide suitable music for the wedding line and also organise a similar line of guests for when the bride & groom depart for their honeymoon near the end of the evening.

Grace
If you have a toastmaster in your service for your wedding we can provide him/her with a suitable radio mic for announcements. After escorting the bride and groom to their places at the top table, the toastmaster can say grace or he can introduce someone who has been asked by the bride and groom to say grace. Sometimes depending of the faith of the couple grace is not said.

Speeches and Toasts
These are traditional. We can provide radio microphones and small PA system for the speeches to ensure all attending can hear clearly. The first to speak is usually the father of the bride, but if this is not possible then a close relative or friend can do this where they would offer the toast which is to ‘The Bride and Bridegroom’. The bridegroom responds to this toast on behalf of himself and his bride. It is also usual for him to offer a toast to ‘The Bridesmaids’. The best man responds to this toast on behalf of the bridesmaids. He then goes on to read out messages of congratulation.

Cutting the Cake
At British weddings, it is usual for the bride and groom to cut the cake together at the end of the meal, before coffee is served. If suitable music or announcement is required we can look after that.

The Top Table
The top table should face your guests with the seating arrangement as shown, if appropriate.
